Making Progress - Garage Sale Chandelier Transformation

As you can see by the date, it is taking me longer than I thought it would to get started with posting. I am still in the process of learning to add what I want to my blog. I also need to learn to take better photos, so you will see what I want to show you!!!

I have chandeliers in every room and on my front porch. They are all purchased from garage sales and turned into my own treasures. I do not have before photos of any of them, but here are photos of some of the afters. One is in my laundry room and the other is in my dining room den. I have slowly and surely weaned myself from all the pink at my family's request!! I did manage to keep two pink ones.

This is the one I have in my den. It was bright brass with old fashioned globes on each arm when I brought it home. I was lucky enough to find a set of rose cups and saucers at a great price. The "crystal" decorations are put together with beads I found at Hobby Lobby.  I now wish I had turned the saucers down, so the flowers were showing. After re-wiring all five arms, deep inside the cups, I couldn't bring myself to take it all apart and start over!!

This is the one I have in my laundry room. This is my room, so I went "all-out' on this former bright brass baby. I found the shades at Lowes and added ribbon, beads and little fabric roses to each shade. No chandelier is complete without crystals and beads - most of these are the real thing. I love seeing this every time I have to do my laundry.

I will post more of my trash to treasure soon. Hoping my photography skills improve!!!

Finding A Template

I am pleased to say that it took me only one evening to decide on my blog template. I thought it would take much longer. Thanks to The Cutest Blog On The Block - http://thecutestblogontheblock.com/. I had planned on making my own as I used to do on eBay, but with the site above, I didn't have to take the time. I still have lots of work and learning to do before I can consider myself ready to be a true blogger. I am having fun which is what this is all about.

Getting Started

I am new to blogging and working on my layout now. I hope to spend some time over the next few weeks and get this up & going somewhere.
